Last year was a banner year for William Wetsel Middle School's global education initiative known as "MadConnects." Groups from Ms. Mason's room dove into cultural and school commonalities and differences through the written word in a year-long "Pen-Pal" exchange with English classes in Brooklyn...In Mr. Resnick's Civics class students developed and debated editorials on various topics and current events and practiced civil discourse in Skype sessions with students from Bank Street College in Manhattan. A collaborating teacher from NYC commented that "several of the students spoke about this exchange and how it had changed the way they see things." All great stuff!
