PenPals are the BEST PALS!

The Connection between WWMS and The Packer Institute of Brooklyn, New York is now under way. Ms. Kellie Mason of the Wetsel English Department is excited to connect her classes to Ms. Vidya Misra's History classes. Below is a summary of the the goals of this particular Connection per Ms. Mason:

"The goal of establishing a Pen Pal partnership with another classroom is to provide students with a motivating, authentic writing opportunity that will help develop writing skills while also expanding their global and cultural perspectives. Students here will match up with a class in a different area of the country. Ideally, the corresponding class would be located in an urban or suburban setting to contrast interests, lifestyles, perspectives, etc. of our students here in Madison, VA. In addition to noticing different perspectives, I would hope that students can also find similarities with their "pal" throughout the writing exchange. I hope that the partnership can continue throughout the 2016-2017 school year with at least four to five sets of exchanges throughout the year."
